Sandy Hayes (often referred to as Sandy Heys) is located on the Kinder Scout plateau, the highest area in the Peak District National Park. Rising to around 636 metres, Kinder Scout is a vast upland moorland known for its exposed terrain and expansive views.
 
The area lies along a section of the Pennine Way, one of the UK’s most famous long-distance walking routes, which crosses the Kinder plateau as it travels through northern England.
